Changgeuk (Romeo & Juliet)

Enjoy the world’s most renowned English play by Shakespeare <Romeo and Juliet> in Korean legitimate theater style ‘Ch’angguk’ (Korean traditional opera). Korean ICLA Association has specially arranged this play for participants from all over the world to experience the harmony and consilience of cultural diversities through the Korean theater.

Korean Writer’s Evening

In 21st century, Korean literature currently finds itself in a new creativity and narrative adventures. If “the Special Forum on Korean Literature” deals with 20th century aspects of Korean Literature by extension of classical literature of Korea, “Conversing with Authors” tries a direct communication with 7 most active contemporary Korean writers and poets. You would be able to hear their first hand interpretation of this dynamic momentum of modern Korean literature.

The Farewell Dinner

Venue: Sam Chung Gak

Sam Chung Gak was named after 3 elements; clean mountain [San Chung], limpid water [Soo Chung] and good-hearted people [In Chung]. Built in 1972, it was was a gathering place for high-ranking government officials from 1970~1980. Hosting the North-South Red Cross Conference, the Korea-Japan Conference and many others in 1972, Sam Chung Gak was a symbol of secret negotiation and closed-door politic. In 2001, the city of Seoul took over and restructured Sam Chung Gak as a place for Korean Traditional foods and cultural performances.
